Full Name: Christina Petrowska Quilico Born in: Ottawa, Canada Studied at: New York's High School of the Performing Arts, The Juilliard School of Music, The Sorbonne (Paris), and as a child at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. Most famous relative: Count Potocki. My grandmother's side of the family lived close to Chopin's family. My grandmother was a descendent of the Potocki and de Leczinski families who were Polish aristocracy. Favourite composers: Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy, and Ravel as well as challenging and unknown repertoire from classic and modern composers. Favourite author: Anyone who I am reading at the time - from music books to mysteries. Passions: My two wonderful daughters, Dominique Brégent-Heald and Delphine Alexandra Brégent, the tango, Latin music, jazz, drumming, antique shopping, and Winnie, my 3-year old black pug. Number of CDs recorded: 20 Number of books authored: Three, including Mr. Rigoletto: In Conversation with Louis Quilico, Opera Illustrated: An Artistic Odyssey, and Go Away Sisyphus, a book of poetry. Career highlight: Having my recording of "Star-Filled Night" by Canadian composer, Alexina Louie, played by Canadian astronaut Steve MacLean on the Space Shuttle Columbia. Upcoming projects: January 18, 2007. The world premiere of David Jaeger's untitled composition in five partsat York University, part of the Faculty Recital Series. The concert will be recorded live by CBC Radio for "Two New Hours".
